LSD for H-190 differential
The following models were equipped with a H-190 differential and had optional LSD units.
2WD Hardbodys 1986.5-1993 equipped with Z24i or KA24E.
Look for orange LSD sticker on differential as it was optional and not standard.
Available ratios: 3.90, 3.70 and 3.545.
Datsun Roadsters – These LSD units are rare expensive and often well used. Also a different spline than the 620 so the 620 axles would need to be resplined to fit.
Common Differential Swaps
Ford 8.8
This is an off center differential, allowing it to be shortened by using 2 short side axels. Bolt pattern is different, need to convert to 6 lug or convert front end to 5 lug.
1995-2003 Ford Explorer – 59.81” wide stock 56.75” wide after shortening. Has disc brakes.
1990-1992 Ford Ranger – 56.5” wide stock – Have not found details of anyone using this rear end. However, It should be possible to narrow it the same as the other 8.8 differentials, although it is equipped with drum brakes rather than disc. Assuming it will be shortened by the same 2-7/8” the final width would be 53.625”
Toyota
1979-1985 pickup/mini and 4Runner – 6 lug – 55″ WMS
1979-1995 pickup/mini 2 wheel drive – 5 lug – 56″ WMS
